エレクトロニック・アーツ（以下EA）は、今年ロサンゼルスで開催されたE3においてベストレースゲーム賞を獲得し、2005年10月20日にプレイステーション 2用ソフトとして発売される激突アクションレースゲーム「バーンアウト リベンジ」に収録される楽曲を発表した。
収録される曲はハードロックやパンク、メタルなどさまざまなジャンルからセレクトされ、40曲以上にまで膨れあがっている。特に8月13日〜14日に開催された「サマーソニック2005」にも参加していた、イエローカードの新曲「Lights And Sounds」が収録されており、どこよりも早く公開されることになる。
この収録曲の豪華さについてEAのミュージック・マーケティングを統括するスティーブ・シュナーは「EAはこれまでにも、ゲームと音楽のコラボを促進するため、新曲をゲーム内で発表する試みを行ってきました。今回も、イエローカードの期待のニューシングルをどこよりも早く『バーンアウト リベンジ』で聴いて頂けることになったのは、非常に嬉しいことです。このゲームの圧倒的なスピード感と迫力に負けないサントラとして厳選された、エネルギッシュな楽曲ラインナップにご期待下さい」とコメントを発表している。
