エレクトロニック・アーツ、FIFAとの独占契約を更新

PS2版「2006 FIFA ワールドカップ ドイツ大会」

　エレクトロニック・アーツ（以下、EA）は、唯一のFIFA公認のサッカーゲーム「2006 FIFA ワールドカップ ドイツ大会」（PS2、Xbox 360、PC版は2006年4月27日、PSP版は2006年6月1日に発売予定）が本日発売されたことに合わせ、EAとFIFAが共同で、EAがサッカーゲームの家庭用ゲーム機、PC、ケータイ、オンラインを含む、あらゆるプラットフォームで提供するための独占的ライセンス契約を更新したことを明らかにした。

　これにより、EAは今後も継続的にFIFA公認サッカーゲームを提供できるほか、2010年、2014年に開催予定の「FIFA ワールドカップ」についても、ゲーム化権を取得したことになるという。
