岡田武史監督が実況解説――「FIFA 08 ワールドクラス サッカー」

　エレクトロニック・アーツから12月20日に発売されるプレイステーション 3／Xbox 360ソフト「FIFA 08 ワールドクラス サッカー」だが、これまでの「FIFA」シリーズでは実況音声も海外版をそのままローカライズしていたが、今作では1から台本を書き起こし、日本向けの日本語実況でゲームが演出されている。

　そして実況で登場するのは、このたび日本代表監督に就任した岡田武史氏とスカパー!やフジテレビなどでのサッカー実況でおなじみの西岡明彦氏。ゲーム中音声のベースは実況西岡氏、解説岡田氏の掛け合いコメントになっており、掛け合い自体を1つの音声ファイルとして持っているため、セリフ自体の掛け違いがなくなったとのこと。

　また、岡田監督が今までもっとも強烈だったアウェイ体験、岡田監督があこがれた選手や、過去に日本でプレイしていた日本人および外国人選手に関する独自カテゴリー音声といった、英語版音声では存在しない日本独自カテゴリーの音声を収録。日本のサッカーファンが聞いていて楽しい実況、そして思わずニヤリとしてしまう音声が用意されているそうだ。

状況：シュートがことごとく外れており、キーパーはセーブする必要がない。

• 英語解説者：This keeper could probably read the newspaper with the amount he's had to do.（今日のキーパー、試合中に新聞を読んでもいいくらい何もすることがありませんよ。）
• 日本修正例：今日はですね〜、シュートまでの動きは非常にいいんですけどね、フィニッシュの所で精度を欠いているんですよね。
